A Chilean Landmark
Hello, today I am going to talk to you about a building that I really like in Chile, the CEPAL building, this is the United Nations Building in Chile, it was built in 1966 by the Chilean architect Emilio Duhart, who also built the airport of Santiago and the university city of Concepción. All his works are modern in style, with influences from Le Corbusier. The building is located in Santiago de Chile in the commune of Vitacura. I visited with some friends on the occasion of Heritage Day, when public buildings are opened to be visited.
One of the things that I really like about the building is its modern style, since they are volumes with very simple geometries of reinforced concrete, it is also surrounded by nature and a reflecting pool. Its horizontality stands out. Inside, I really like the meeting room, which is made of wood and the windows of different sizes.

A Little Bit of Chile
Hello, today I am going to talk to you about places; one of the places i like the most in Chile is Valpraiso.
Valparaíso is a port located in the central area of Chile, it is internationally recognized for its typical architecture, it was recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site. Valparaíso is recognized for its particular architecture, a mix of English and Chilean architecture.
We went with my family, my dad, my mom and my brother when I was 15 years old, we had a great time, what we liked most, apart from its architecture, was the variety of food we could eat.We went by car, since it is very close to Santiago, we stayed for a week and visited museums and typical places, we have been many times since then, but it is always good to go.
One of my favorite places was the Baburizza Palace, it is located on Cerro Alegre, this is currently a Museum, but it was built in 1916 for a rich family from Valparaíso. The art collection of Chilean painting is of great quality, especially the works of Juan Francisco González, you can see many of his works such as Los Nogales, which has many colors.

Language
Hello, now I'm going to talk to you about the language.
I started speaking English at school when I was 12 because it is mandatory at school. It was very difficult for me to learn English, I think I read better than I speak. But I have tried to speak another language, Italian, but I can only say phrases from Italian movies, like “vendetta” or phrases that Marcello Mastroianni said in Fellini's 8 ½ like “Perché non sa voler bene.”
Outside of class I practice watching movies in English and listening to music in English. Most of the movies I watch are in English and I watch them with subtitles; and on the radio they always play music in English.
In English class I enjoy the activities where I can talk to others, it seems like an easier way to learn English.
I think English is very useful for work, architectural modeling programs are always in English and structure books too.
I find English culture interesting, rock music and bands, because the best rock bands are English like The Rolling Stones, Queen and The Beatles. I'm also interested in Hollywood movies, both old and new.

A Job
Today I am going to talk to you about jobs. The only job I have in my life is as a secretary in my brother's office, the job was: sorting papers, books and answering phone calls, I didn't do it for a long time and it wasn't that bad.
But I have always wanted to be a truck driver, because truckers are free, They can listen to all the music they want at full volumen, and can see many places, they drive on the road and go where they want and when they want, they don't need anyone. I also like trucks, they are like cars but bigger and can carry different loads.
To be a truck driver you need to: know how to drive trucks, have a license, be of legal age, patience to spend many hours in the truck and time to take very long trips.
Truck drivers are very important for the transportation of merchandise in a country as long as Chile where the train does not reach many parts.
I remember an episode of The Simpsons, when Homer and Bart replace a truck driver who died because of them, and they drive to deliver the load.
A book you can Recommend
Hello, Today I am going to recommend a book that I really liked, because it is real and not fiction. “Blue Nights”(2011) by Joan Didion, the book tells how Joan Didion lives after the death of her daughter Quintana, the book is the sequel to "The Year of Magical Thinking" (2005) where she tells the sudden death of her husband John Gregory Dunne and his daughter's illness.

FP Top 5
I was already very tired so it seemed like a good idea not to have classes during the week.
1-Movies
This week I saw a movie that I wanted to see for a long time. Dracula from 1958, is a remake of classic story from Bram Stoker, starring Christopher Lee as Count Dracula and Peter Cushing as Doctor Van Helsing, the films are very bloody, but more illuminated than the common vampire movies.
2-Laser Cutter
I also learned how to use a laser cutter, which will be very useful to be able to make my models. Learning to use 3D modeling programs is very difficult, but I think that with time I will learn how to do it well.
3-Cook
I cooked food for my family, we eat meat and empanadas, my nephews and their pets were there, 3 dogs and a cat, we had a great time.
4-Sleep
I think I slept a lot more this week than I did all semester. I slept more than 8 hours a day which made me feel very good, as I write this I already feel tired. This is what I enjoyed the most this week.
5-Shells and structure
I studied shell structures, I think this will take me the whole semester, these are light structures that resist large loads and have very strange shapes like sea shell or a walnut shell.
(I'm as tired as Count Dracula )

An Interesting Trip
When I was 17
years old I went to Chiloé, with a few friends, the trip was a long bus ride
from Santiago to the island and then we walked the rest of the trip.
Chiloe is the
island in the Pacific Ocean in the south of Chile, the island is known for the
architecture, the Churches of Chiloé were designated UNESCO World Heritage
Sites, the churches are made entirely of wood, to resist the humidity of the
climate. but it also has beautiful landscapes, and good food. Chiloe
the group of
friends was made up Rubén, Marcelo and Felipe. We went walking through various
places on the island, we took many photos of landscapes and mountains. We
visited the wooden churches and a lake where I bathed and smoked weed. It was
cold and it rained, but I think it's always like that there, but I enjoyed it.
We were only there for two weeks, but it was a lot of fun and we will always remember it and would like to go again one day. Chiloe is also known for the witches and spirits that live there, we didn't see any, luckily and we all arrived safely at our homes.

A TV programme you watched as a child
The series progresses during many chapters, where they test and have new habilities. But there is a problem, the manga doesn´t have an end, consequently the serie neither and 20 years have passed since its beginning.
I liked HunterxHunter because is freak and mysterious and is the great adventure but i still hope Yoshihiro Togashi finishes writing the series. My favorite episodes are the ones on the Greed Island.

About a good friend
Today I'm going to tell you about my personal friend Rubén. He is my best friends the most characteristic of him is your hair, because is hairless and that's why we say "el pelado". He studies law and is very happy doing it. Also and he is fanatic of argentinian team River Plate , but no one is perfect.
We met in the school in the maths class, when i was 16 years, We were bored, and we started talking, we talk a lot about movies and series, He like film like Nausicaä (1984) or Spirited Away (2001) of Hayao Miyazaki and series like Mad Men (2007-2015) and Game of Thrones (2011-2019). I like them too, but not that much.
In common we have our liking for movies and football . Together we like go to the cinema and watch football in the tv, because he has satellite tv and has many channels of sports.
The last time i saw him was last week, when we went to see Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023), the movie is funny but Rubén didn t like the movie, because it has become very demanding.

A Family Meal
A memorable meal, it was my mother's birthday in 2015, and that time Chile won the Copa América, on that occasion together with my brothers we planned to give mother a special dinner, and we cooked it ourselves, and our mother always liked it try foods from other countries such as Peruvian food, Thailand, Japan, etc. So we thought of a kind of recipe from the Jewish culture, that you might like.
It was when we made the brisket, which is a type of Jewish recipe, it is roasted meat with onion, garlic, pepper, vinegar and hot sauce. The cooking with the help of my brothers and my father, who was so happy that year, although none of us had done it before, I remember that we waited many hours to eat, because it is a meal that cooks very slowly and it didn't turn out that well either. Because we didn't know how to cook. We had a lot of fun cooking, it was a lovely evening, we laughed and joked. In the end, not everyone wanted to eat the brisket, so we ordered Chinese food. And although we never repeat it again, we remember it as one of the best birthdays and we will always remember it as we were at that time.

A Country You Would Like To Visit
Hi , Now I am going to tell you about a Country i Would Like To Visit
Italy is a country in Europe, since 1861 is one country, because was former for divers kingdoms, now is a Republic parliamentary for 2022 the population is 60000000 of persons. But italy has been the center of history since the Antiquity, here born the western civilization to World War II.
But for my is important for the architecture, Italy and specifically Roma is a great catalogue of history of architecture, from classic ancient Roman architecture, Romanesque, Baroque, Neoclassical, Renaissance, Fascist, to contemporary. There can see classic as the Colosseum what is an elliptical amphitheatre from antiquity, classical modern architecture fascist Casa di Fascio of Giuseppe Terragni and the Fontana di Trevi. But also like Firenze a city in a central Italy for the architecture and art in the Middle Ages and Renaissance can see works of Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and Sandro Botticelli.
If I could, I would stay as long as possible, a year or more because it is a very large country with many tourist places.
I would visit this country with my family, we always eat together and the foods italian is very good I like the pasta, gelato, cofee, pizza and martini , and i think, it must taste better if i eat it in italy.

A Holiday as a Child
When I was
12 years old we went on vacation with my family, my father, my mother and my
brothers to Mar del Plata, Argentina, I remember that I went to the beach and
we saw many theaters. We stayed in a hotel that had a pool, but we also went to
the beach and there was a lot of noise at night. We also ate a lot of
empanadas, dulce de leche, milanesas and facturitas. But I especially remember
the time we went to a candy store and I chose some chocolates, I think it's the
sweetest thing I've ever eaten.
Mar del
Plata is a city in Argentina, located in the Atlantic Sea, very close to the
City of Buenos Aires, during the summer it is full of tourists, while Buenos
Aires is faster with many cars and more tourist places such as the Obelisco,
the Corrientes Street, the Boca and River Plate stadiums, la Casa Rosada etc.
But I like Mar del Plata more, everything is calmer, you can see beautiful
landscapes, beaches and the port, which is not very pretty. During the nights
there is a lot of noise and you cannot sleep, but the beach is much quieter
although there are many people and it is difficult to walk and get to the
water.

A Hobby
I'm going to tell you about my hobby. My hobby is drawing; When I was 4 years old I started to draw, I drew only with a bic blue pencil, but later I tried another pencil and watercolor, watercolor is very easy, because you make mistakes, you put more water on it. To draw I need paper, pencil, brush, water and color. The hardest part of my hobby is knowing what to draw, sometimes I don't know what to draw. I draw very often, because studying architecture requires drawing buildings and spaces. I enjoy my hobby because I can express my idea, drawing is a way through which I think with my hand.
